Traditional real estate business models follow the approach providing service through a brokerage firm. In most cases a single office, with multiple agents, acting as independent contractors and providing no other ancillary services. The new business models offer; multiple office brokerages, an Agent Service Bureau and employ the use of third party referral. The multiple office brokerages have 200 or more independent contractors, offer at least one ancillary service and are involved in a referral and relocation service. The Agent Service Bureau is a model that provides varied services to the independent agent for a fee. The agent retains 100% of the commission. The third party referral model uses the internet to generate interests in properties. |
