The residential real estate transaction traditionally has been a lengthy process, filled with tightly controlled scheduling and passing back and forth of documents. Imagine, however, an online environment that enables all of the participants in a given transaction to communicate quickly, and pass documents, title reports, inspections, approvals, and authorizations between the buyer, seller, broker, and lender—without requiring any traveling or face-to-face scheduling. This is the new “e-transaction.” It is possible (if not probable) that we will see a significant speeding up of the typical real estate transaction as new efficiencies are applied via transaction networks and e-transaction platforms |
